Juneteenth Community Movie Night: Becoming Thurgood

The Garden State Bar Association is proud to partner with community organizations across Morris County for a special Juneteenth Community Movie Night featuring a screening of the PBS documentary Becoming Thurgood: America’s Social Architect.

This family-friendly event will bring together lawyers, local leaders, community organizations, students, and special guests for an evening of reflection, education, and conversation in honor of Juneteenth. The documentary explores the life and legacy of Justice Thurgood Marshall, the first African American Justice of the United States Supreme Court and a towering figure in the fight for civil rights, equal justice, and the rule of law.

Following the screening, attendees are invited to participate in a talk-back panel featuring members of the legal community and local leaders, including GSBA President Joel Clymer, Esq., GSBA Past President James A. Lewis V, Esq., and Tahlyah Ellis, Rutgers Law School 3L, ABLS Representative, and Founder/President of the Rutgers Law School Society for Education Advocacy and Law.

Organization tabling begins at 5:00 PM, followed by the film screening at 6:00 PM.
