GSBA Scholarship — Now Accepting Applications
The Garden State Bar Association (GSBA) is pleased to announce that applications are currently open for the Annual GSBA Tuition Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to deserving law students who demonstrate academic promise, professional commitment, and community engagement, and recipients will be recognized at the 51st Anniversary Scholarship & Awards Gala on June 27, 2026 at Embassy Suites in Berkeley Heights, NJ.
About the Scholarship
Established more than three decades ago, the GSBA Tuition Scholarship exists to support law students pursuing legal careers in New Jersey. While priority is given to students attending New Jersey law schools, the program is open to New Jersey residents enrolled in ABA-accredited law schools nationwide.
Who Should Apply
You are eligible if you:
Are currently enrolled in a New Jersey law school, or
Are a New Jersey resident attending an ABA-accredited law school outside New Jersey;
Are in good academic standing;
Demonstrate financial need;
Show meaningful involvement in law school activities and/or service to the African-American or Black community; and
Meet any specific class-year requirements as outlined in the application form.

Submit your completed application through the online Google Form linked below. Before you begin, please ensure you have:
Your current resume
A personal statement/biography
Academic information and supporting documentation
Any other materials required by the form

Review & Interviews: Scholarship Committee may conduct virtual or in-person interviews

Recognition
Scholarship recipients will be formally recognized at the 51st Anniversary Scholarship & Awards Gala — a signature GSBA event celebrating academic achievement and leadership in the legal community.
