GSBA Director - Tracy M. Thompson, Esq.
In 2003, she was appointed to serve as Special Assistant to Vaughn L. McKoy, then Director of the Division of Criminal Justice (DCJ). As such, she assisted the Director in overseeing prosecutions and criminal justice planning and development. From 2001-2003, she served as a Deputy Attorney General assigned to prosecute money laundering and other complex financial crimes. Before DCJ, Mrs. Thompson served as an Assistant Mercer County Prosecutor for 9 years. There she prosecuted a variety of major violent felonies and supervised the Domestic Violence Unit for 4 years. A native of Trenton, Mrs. Thompson received her BA in African American Studies from the University of Pennsylvania in 1987 and her JD from Temple University School of Law in 1990. Following law school, she clerked for the Honorable Lisa A. Richette, a homicide judge for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Since 1999, Mrs. Thompson has been adjunct faculty at The College of New Jersey. She has taught Judicial Process and Criminal Law. She currently teaches Advanced Criminology: Race and Crime. In 2001, Mrs. Thompson received the Trenton NAACP Freedom Fund President's Award for Outstanding Service to the Legal Profession and Loyalty to the Trenton Community. In 2006 she was a featured Black History Month columnist in the Trenton Times newspaper.

Assistant
Attorney General Tracy M. Thompson has been an attorney for 17 years,
15 of which have been as either a County or State prosecutor. She
is admitted to practice law in both NJ and PA. Currently, she serves
as Chief Counsel of the Bureau of Fiscal Oversight in the Criminal
Division of the NJ Office of the Attorney General. The Bureau of
Fiscal Oversight conducts background investigations designed to
evaluate the moral integrity of contractors seeking to bid on school
facilities projects funded by the School Development Authority (SDA).
When necessary, Mrs. Thompson prosecutes these individuals or companies
on behalf of the SDA in the Office of Administrative Law. From 2004
to 2006, Mrs. Thompson served as the Deputy Director, then Acting
Director of the Office of Government Integrity (OGI) for the NJ
Attorney General. The primary function of OGI was to investigate
certain matters involving waste, fraud, abuse, corruption, criminal
activity or conflicts of interest in government agencies or programs.
