Ray Brown, Jr., Esq

Raymond Brown is an expert in international criminal law and professional responsibility.

Raymond Brown received a J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley. He completed undergraduate studies at Columbia University.

Professor Brown is a member of both the New Jersey and New York Bars. He is a partner in the Litigation Department of Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith and Davis LLP and Chair of the White Collar Defense and Corporate Compliance Practice Group. He concentrates his practice in internal investigations, corporate compliance and other aspects of white collar defense.

Mr. Brown is the Host of the Emmy Award winning New Jersey Network Program "Due Process" and has provided legal analyses and coverage for many broadcast venues. He has taught International Criminal Law in the Seton Hall/American University Program in Cairo, Egypt and at Seton Hall University's School of Diplomacy and International Relations. He has spoken on over 200 occasions to criminal and civil lawyers, law enforcement personnel and judges, students and citizens' groups.

His subjects have included trial advocacy, ethics, race, human rights and international law, the art of persuasion, and educational policy. Mr. Brown was recently quoted on the Council on Foreign Relations website regarding Hamden v. Rumsfeld, the landmark decision in which the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that military commissions do not comply with U.S. military law, the laws of war, or the Geneva Conventions, which protect the rights of detainees during wartime.
