GSBA Director - Nashon Hornsby, Esq.
Besides serving as Vice President of the Garden State Bar Association, Mr. Hornsby sits on various boards and hold leadership in several organizations. The founder and former President of the Northern New Jersey Chapter of the Morehouse College Alumni Association, Mr. Hornsby now serves as the Vice President of the Morehouse National Alumni Association, and in that capacity is responsible for coordinating the activities and liaising between the National Association and chapters within the New England states of New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Maine, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Nashon is a Trustee of Child Care Connection, Mercer County's child care training and certification agency. He is also the Education Ministry leader at the House of Prayer and Evangelism (HOPE) Church, in Bound Brook, New Jersey, where he and his family worship. Mr. Hornsby is licensed in the State of New Jersey and before the District Court of the State of New Jersey. Nashon has had the privilege of serving as the National Chairperson of the National Black Law Students Association (1996-97) and has been honored by his alma mater as Outstanding Alumnus of the Year. Married to the former Melissa Dyanne Chisholm, Mr. Hornsby and his family reside in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Mr. and Mrs. Hornsby have two teenage children, Din (age 17) and Nia (age 13).

A cum laude graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta Georgia, Mr. Hornsby, earned his B.A. in Business Management in 1993. He then attended Seton Hall Law School where he graduated with a Juris Doctor in 1997. Immediately following graduation, Nashon assumed the role of Director, Corporate Compliance and Legal and Regulatory Affairs, for University Health Plans, Inc., a managed care company then owned by the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. In the Fall of 2001, Mr. Hornsby returned to Seton Hall Law School to work toward an LL.M. in Health Law. In the Fall of 2002, Nashon joined the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of the Commissioner. Presently, he serves as the Procedural Safeguards Coordinator, where he coordinates dispute resolution for individuals aggrieved about services provided through the New Jersey Early Intervention System.
