Lisa James-Beavers is currently employed as Executive Director of the School Ethics Commission in the New Jersey Department of Education, which governs the conduct of school board members and administrators in the State of New Jersey. |

Mrs. James-Beavers is the Immediate Past President of the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the New Jersey State Bar Association. She has served the Foundation as a trustee, treasurer, second vice president, first vice-president and president. She served as Chair of the Foundation's Co-sponsorship Oversight Committee, the Tolerance Committee and the Program Development Committees. She is also a member of the Editorial Board of Respect, A Newsletter about Law and Diversity, a publication which is geared to middle and high school students. She was listed as a New Jersey Super Lawyer in May 2005 and was named a Professional Lawyer of the Year by the Association of Black Women Lawyers of New Jersey and the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in October 2005. |

Ms. James-Beavers currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Pipeline Task Force of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Prior to that appointment, she served on the General Council Executive Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association. She is a trustee of the Garden State Bar Association, which is an affiliate of the National Bar Association. She is also a member of the Board of the American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey. She is a former member of the Board of Trustees of the IOLTA Fund of the Bar of New Jersey. She is a past trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association and past chair of the Association's Minorities in the Profession and Administrative Law Sections. She previously served on the Editorial Board of the New Jersey Lawyer, the Magazine. Ms. James-Beavers is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Theta Pi Omega Chapter in which she holds the chapter office of Parliamentarian. |

James-Beavers is a member of the New Jersey and Pennsylvania bars. She received her Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Rutgers College, Rutgers University where she was a Rutgers Achievement Scholar and a member of the Cap & Skull Society. |
